Energy Efficiency Measures

Energy efficiency measures are critical components of CGE EverGREEN Systems. In order to provide affordable onsite energy generation that will make the greatest impact, the energy use at a facility must first be reduced to an efficient level. This is done by implementing applicable, cost-effective energy efficiency measures. We evaluate over 100 energy efficiency measures at each facility we consider for a CGE Integrated Energy System. The measures cover a broad spectrum of building and mechanical systems including heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) and controls, lighting, domestic hot water (DHW), base load or specialty energy-using equipment, building envelope and water conservation. Common energy efficiency measures that we evaluate are discussed on the following pages. The portfolio of potential measures increases frequently due to technology breakthroughs and improvements, so the listing that follows is basic but by no means complete.
